Self-Isolation by Yung Bony appeals to the effects brought on by Covid-19 throughout quarantining. Many have developed mental issues along the lines of depression and anxiety.

Location, transitions, and shooting choices really come into play to portray how deep these effects have had on people in that position.

The location was the most important. It had to be a calm, familiar location to the artist. This allows the artist to bae comfortable, as well as the meaning behind confining this music video to primarily one room. Quarantine made many a sort of hermit confined in a similar way to solely their rooms. This builds the empathetic connection between viewer and artist.

The transitions came into play allowing the video itself to flow, while telling the story Yung Bony wanted to tell. Taking the punch for example, the spin through the transition offsets the viewer as if they were to be the one punched.

Many of the shots were also planned around the personality of Yung Bony. As he is a quirky person, the acting shots were there to portray the world of Yung Bony and how he sees the world. Many of his mannerisms are displayed throughout the work, too, such as the “playing with the nose ring” and his work of art tattoos. You really get a sense of who Yung Bony is.
