Logline:

They’re naive, immature, and no one takes them seriously. When teenagers Jade and Clara stumble across a potential murder while working at an eclectic farm wedding, they have to pony up and prove to the entire party that they should be listened to.

Synopsis:

The Mysterious Affair at Stone Fences is a coming of age story about two teen girls on the brink of adulthood, set in the context of a satirical murder mystery. The movie takes place over the course of one wedding weekend, where our leads Jade and Clara are working as cater waiters.

What starts as as a free spirited bohemian wedding, turns abruptly into a locked room murder mystery when the best man goes missing.

Instead of Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot, or Knives Out’s Benoit Blanc, our detectives are two rowdy and naive teen girls, who despite their wish to be treated like adults, have a tendency for childlike fantasies and overdramatics.

Every member of the wedding party, and the entire staff have a plausible motive for wanting the best man gone. The only issue? No one seems to care. Every clue has “an adult explanation,” and no one will give the girls the time of day.

This all snowballs to a fast paced ending of revelations, twists and an explosive finale where the girls demand that they be taken seriously.

It's Knives Out meets Booksmart, with a hint of Superbad (but our leads are girls, so they're much cooler...)

This is a story for young girls who feel like the way they are perceived by the world couldn't be further from the truth...  It’s for the late bloomers, round faced gigglers, people who hit puberty last, the short guy on the team, the friend who is always carded, and anyone who’s ever felt unseen.
